Collection & Freshness Policy for Rising Crust

At Rising Crust, we bake completely to order out of our home kitchen to ensure that every single loaf of sourdough is handed over to you fresh, crisp, and at its absolute peak quality. Because our products are highly artisanal and completely perishable, we do not offer courier shipping or delivery services. All orders must be collected in person.

Please read our collection guidelines carefully before placing your order.

1. The Baking Schedule & Order Cut-Off Times

True artisan sourdough takes time. Our dough undergoes a slow, natural, 24-to-48-hour fermentation process. Because of this, we cannot accommodate same-day baking or last-minute walk-ins.

  • Order Cut-Off: Orders must be placed through our website at least 48 hours before your desired collection day.

  • Baking Days: We bake on specific days of the week. Available collection date and time slots will be explicitly displayed and selectable at checkout.

  • Order Confirmation: Once your order is placed, you will receive an automatic confirmation email summarizing your chosen collection slot.

2. Collection Location & Coordination

To maintain the privacy and security of our residential home kitchen, our exact villa collection address and location pin will not be posted publicly on our website.

  • Location Details: We are located in the Al Furjan area of Dubai, UAE.

  • Coordinates Dispatched: Once your order is confirmed and scheduled for the oven, we will send our precise Google Maps location pin and collection instructions via WhatsApp or Email using the contact information you provided at checkout.

  • Promptness: Please strive to arrive within your selected time slot to ensure your bread is collected fresh and to help us smoothly manage visitor traffic at our home.

3. Freshness & The Perishable Nature of Bread

Sourdough is a live, fresh product made without any chemical preservatives or artificial shelf-life extenders.

  • Peak Window: Your bread is packaged in breathable, artisanal paper bags immediately after cooling to preserve its crunchy crust and open crumb structure.

  • Storage Advice: For optimal taste, keep your bread at room temperature in a paper bag or bread box. Do not store fresh sourdough in a standard plastic bag or in the refrigerator, as this makes the crust rubbery and accelerates staling. If you cannot consume it within 3 days, we highly recommend slicing it and freezing it in an airtight container.

4. Missed Collections & Unclaimed Orders

Because we bake specifically for you, a missed collection means fresh bread goes to waste.

  • Holding Window: If you are running late or need to adjust your pickup time, please contact us via WhatsApp immediately. We will hold your baked goods until the end of our designated collection hours on your scheduled day.

  • No-Show Policy: If an order is not collected on its scheduled day and no communication is received, the order will be forfeited. Because our products are fresh and perishable, we cannot hold bread overnight for the next day, and no refunds or complimentary re-bakes will be issued for unclaimed orders.

5. Changes, Cancellations, & Rescheduling

  • Modifications: If you need to change your collection date or cancel your order, you must notify us at least 48 hours prior to your scheduled pickup day. This allows us to halt the flour-mixing and proofing process.

  • Late Changes: Cancellations or rescheduling requests made less than 48 hours before pickup cannot be refunded, as your customized dough will already be undergoing fermentation.
